Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

One of the better South African Chenin Blanc I’ve ever tried! Golden colour, rich on the nose with lees, wood, and old wine cellar smell. Gorgeous on the palate with notes of apricot, nectarine and smoked wood. Drink within the next 5 years. Medium to full-bodied wine, rich with bread dough notes, some oakiness and citrus fruit on the end. Medium to long finish. Excellent with Cornish hen and quail as well as pink fish. Worth its price.
Radford Dale's Renaissance 2016 Chenin Blanc is Alex Dale's flagship white wine from the Stellenbosch wine region. The Chenin Blanc grapes were sourced from a single block of old, unirrigated bush vine Chenin on the foot slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, facing South East across False Bay. These vines grow high on a steep slope. These gnarled, old vines never yield a big crop and the berries and bunches are small and fruit-concentrated. Look for fresh citrus, beeswax, grassy notes with a leesy richness from the wine resting on its lees for nine months. the wine was malo-inhibited by keeping it cold. Drink now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
