Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

All Douro grapes... no oak... it's big... it's bold.... and it's a bargain! Here we have a well-crafted Portuguese red with notes black-berry-fruit, plums, dates, figs, anise, tar and leather. The textures show high tannins with a balancing acidity with integrated alcohol (licorice spice notes). This wine can age for 10-12 years easily. Decant for two hours if drinking now. Pair with prime rib roast. Tasted Sept 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Built in 1764, Quinta Nova is one of the oldest wineries in the Douro Region. It has been under the stewardship of the Amorim family since 1999. The full-bodied Senhora do Carmo Colheita is from Portugal's Douro region and is a robust, well-structured wine with layers of spice, blackcurrant and grilled meat. Slow-cooked beef long ribs would do it justice. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
