Noval (NV) Black Ruby Reserve Porto is produced from mostly Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinto Cão from the Douro wine region. The wine was aged in both oak and stainless steel vats. Elegant, softly sweet and balanced with vibrant acidity, look for ripe blackberry, blueberry, mint, herbal and sous bois flavours. Ready to drink now, enjoy with dark chocolate desserts and blue cheeses.

Port food pairings: foie gras, roasted nuts, blue cheese, spice cake, chocolate terrine, fruit cup.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Potent fresh and ripe fruit notes of black cherry, blackberry, plum, and raisin, with a little cocoa and chocolate in the background. Bold tannins, acidity to balance the sweetness (100 grams per litre residual), and a touch of warmth on the finish. Aged in a combination of oak and stainless steel. Enjoy young with chocolate desserts or blue cheeses.
Quinta Do Noval Black Ruby NV is a Reserve Porto produced from Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinto Cão from estate vineyards and Cima Corgo. Sweet at 100 g/l sugar with dried fruit, fine herb and dark berry, cherry flavours on the palate. Aged two years in larger oak and stainless-steel vats. Great value. - Community Wine Reviews
