Clean and crisp, very pinot grigio. Lime and white grapefruit, no heavy oak. Great aperitif or shellfish companion.

Cortese (Gavi) food pairings: lighter fish dishes.

According to legend, all it took for Principessa Gavia, daughter of the King of the Franks, to have a village and a wine named after her was for her to fall in love with a soldier and flee to northwest Italy to escape the wrath of her father. We could all learn a thing or two from those bygone simpler days. Made from the local Cortese grape, this refreshing wine is a crisp offering of layered citrus fruit and peach, with a graceful white-floral character. A perfect aperitif. Source: Vintages Wine Panel

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
