This history winery was founded 800 years ago by the Corsini family, who at the time, was once Italy's largest landowner. This Chianti Classico winery -- Le Villa Corti -- has 49 hectares of vines planted in San Casciano Val di Pesa. The 2015 vintage has lots of racy acidity for tangy tomato sauces. Firm tannins. Aromas of tart cherry and spices.

Chianti Classico food pairings: meaty lasagne, rich tomato sauce and cheesy pasta, meatlover's pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

big powerful black fruit, dark in the glass, softer acids translate into rich style. Some tannins means this beauty might age but not likely for me. An early finish.
Principe Corsini Le Corti 2015 is a ripe red cherry and plummy Chianti Classico from the Tuscany wine region. Great acidity on this made-for-food red. Pair it with a meat pasta and rich tomato sauce. The Corsini family line goes back 800 years. Their Chianti Classico property, Le Villa Corti, includes 120 acres of vineyards in the commune of San Casciano Val di Pesa. Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
