Portia Roble Ribera del Duero D.O. is a dry, medium to full-bodied 100% Tempranillo with an inviting nose of ripe red cherry, crushed strawberry, dark plum, dried violet, and a lift of warm spice and toasted cedar from its four months in French oak. On the palate it is juicy and generous, with a succulent core of dark berry fruit, fine-grained tannins, lively acidity, and a satisfying finish that lingers with a hint of black pepper and cocoa. Serve at room temperature and enjoy now through 2035, as this wine has both the immediacy and the structure to reward over time. Winemaker Raúl Quemada sources Tempranillo from Portia's own vineyards across the "Golden Triangle" of Ribera del Duero, with vines sitting at elevations between 850 and 1,000 metres above sea level where the dramatic day-to-night temperature swings preserve freshness and intensity in equal measure. The winery itself is a destination in its own right: its iconic three-pointed trefoil building was designed by the celebrated Foster + Partners firm, the same architects behind London's famous Gherkin skyscraper, making Bodegas Portia one of the most architecturally striking wine estates in all of Spain. Pour it alongside lamb kebabs spiced with cumin and fresh herbs, where the wine's dark cherry and pepper notes mirror every bite, or pair it with a juicy pork tenderloin glazed with honey and rosemary, letting the wine's fruit-forward warmth wrap around the richness of the dish.

Food pairings: veal Porterhouse, lamb kebabs, pork tenderloin.
