Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

It's and intense, inky and flavourful value-priced wine! Black plum, anise, and floral galore. Lovely ripe fruit flavours complemented with high acidity and smooth tannins. A superb BBQ red! Tasted May 2017 by @sommsosa | bepsoketastings.ca
Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Some subtlety to the aromas here plus a nice medium weight of black very ripe fruit. Medium level of tannins.
From Vinho Regional Alentejano, Portas da Herdage Reserva (2014) is a great value, full-bodied Portuguese red wine with blackberry liqueur aromas on the nose and palate. Pair with prime rib. This inky red is a blend of Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Aragonez wine grapes from vineyards in the Douro, Lisboa and Beira. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
