A robust, black and brooding Portuguese red wine that's a blend of local grapes. Aromas of dark fruit, tar and toasty oak. A pleasantly bitter, dry finish. Pair with hearty meat dishes.

Food pairings: Mexican-style venison sausage and roasted root vegetables, stuffed rolled flank steak, boar stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Portugal is still undiscovered by many winelovers. Change that !! This is what I call an older style of Portuguese reds. A good measure of plum and dried fruits along with just enough oak to match it . A great buy.
Produced by Companhia Geral da Agricultura das Vinhas do Alto Douro, Porca de Murca Reserva (2014) is a full-bodied and flavoursome red blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Lots of toasty oak, ripe dark plum and savoury spice flavours on this well-priced Alto Douro red. Enjoy with a roast pork. - Community Wine Reviews
