This is staggeringly great in every dimension: depth, concentration, complexity, finish. Aromas of blackberries, tar, toasty oak, smoke and dried tobacco leaves. Made from the Sangiovese grape, the 2007 vintage of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Vigneto Poggio Sant'Enrico is a wine to enjoy now or in the future. decant 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Nobile Di Montepulciano food pairings: vegetarian lasagne, pasta with rich sun-dried tomato sauce, cheesy pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Poggio Sant'enrico (2007) is a Sangiovese expressive of its region. The 2007 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Vigneto Poggio Sant'Enrico is elegant with dark fruit, dried cherry and savoury spice and anise on the palate. Over 95% of the Carpineto production is in red wines; wines that are held for three or more years prior to going to market with current figures at over 3 million bottles of wine being sold annually. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
