Fascinating violet aromas on the nose. Alicante is a lesser-known red grape grown in Italy, but it's capable of producing full-bodied red wines like this one, full of interesting flavours. Both the skin and pulp or fleshy of the grape are red, which is unusual -- the only Vitis vinifera grape that is so. This wine offers robust aromas of cigar box, blackberries and dark plums. Attractively sour-bitter finish. Something different and new for your pepperoni pizza.

Alicante food pairings: grilled or cured meats, pepperoni pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

This wine is made from Alicante grapes and then this big red wine is aged for one year in Slovenian oak barrels. Attractive dark fruit and smoky nuances. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
