Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An interesting wine that gets it's name from the schist powder that covers you as you stroll through the vineyards. Good concentration of strawberry, dark cherry, Swedish berry candy, floral, sweet spices. The palate also reveals anise and black pepper. Good candied cherry finish. Integrated tannins and medium acidity in this medium+-bodied red wine. Nice lingering warm finish. Hits the magic $20 price point.
Tasted: April 2015
This Portuguese red wine comes from the dry and sunny Douro Valley and is named for the thin schist soils that are almost powder that cover you when you walk through the vineyards. The grapes are protected from the hot afternoon sun and ripen slowly preserving both flavour and freshness. Produced by Jorge M. Nobre Morerira. - Community Wine Reviews
