Lovely mature Brunello that has mellowed beautifully. Aromas of dark plum, dried herbs and some wild violets. Supple and easy drinking. Pair with truffle-inflected dishes. This classic robust Italian red wine from the northern wine region in the country offers vibrant acidity. Pair with wild boar.

Brunello Di Montalcino food pairings: grilled steak, roast leg of lamb, hard cheese, veal piccata.

Reviews and Ratings

Pietranera (2012) is a Brunello Di Montalcino from the Tuscany wine region. Dark plum, dried herbs, crushed blue flowers and dark chocolate flavours can be found on the palate matched with a vibrant acidity. This wine is elegant and well structured and balanced wine. Drink now and pair with wild boar, or hold for five years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
