Beautiful lemon sharp intensity on the nose and palate of this superbly well-made Alsatian Riesling. Medium-bodied and mouth-watering with racy acidity perfect for seafood and fresh shellfish. Lots of minerality, intensity and balance. Well-priced.

Riesling food pairings: feta cheese, grilled salmon with lemon sauce, duck liver pate, butternut squash risotto.

Reviews and Ratings

Pierre Sparr Altenbourg 2015 is a great value Riesling from the Alsace wine region with laser-like white grapefruit, lime-lemon zest intensity and acidity. Perfect for a coquilles St. Jacques or richer seafood and shellfish dishes. The Sparr family has been making wine since 1680. This Riesling was grown in Altenbourg in the Upper Rhine wine region. - Community Wine Reviews
