Phebus Gran Reserva Malbec is a lush, full-bodied red from the high-altitude vineyards of Vistalba in Luján de Cuyo, where vines planted as far back as 1908 yield fruit of extraordinary concentration and character. The nose is immediately seductive, with layers of crushed blueberry, ripe plum, and a lifted violet florality, framed by hints of dark chocolate and cedar from its aging in French oak. The palate is generous and structured, with polished tannins, a velvety mid-palate, and a long, dry finish that speaks to both power and finesse. Serve it at room temperature, and it has the backbone to cellar beautifully through 2036. Bordeaux-born winemaker Hervé Joyaux Fabre arrived in Argentina in the early 1990s when Malbec was dismissed as a blending grape, and his early conviction in the variety's greatness helped pioneer the premium Malbec category, a legacy recognized when he was named Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge in 2018. This 2023 earned both the Mendoza Malbec Trophy and the International Malbec Trophy at that same competition.

Malbec food pairings: beef tenderloin with chimichurri, braised short ribs with roasted root vegetables, aged cheddar with quince paste.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
