Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Smoke, pepper, and dark berries on this high-octane Aussie Shiraz. Full bodied, rich and concentrated. Enjoy with bison burgers or flank steak sandwhiches. Tasted January 2016. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Full-bodied, rich, grainy, black pepper, toast and gobs of black fruit. Get out the Crest White Strips! Warming spice and alcohol finish. Decant 2 hours.
Pair with lamb, beef, beef stew, char-grilled steak.
Tasted: January 2016
The black Biscay soils of Malpas Vineyard crack open. This natural process which annually breaks off superfluous fingerling vine roots, reduces vine vigour without human intervention and intensifying flavour. The 2013 vintage experienced dry, flat heat in the summer which resulted in deep ripening of the grapes. This full-bodied McLaren Vale red wine made from Shiraz grapes offers lots of dark fruit aromas. - Community Wine Reviews
