Natalie's Score: 93/100

Penfold's Bin 389 is sometimes referred to fondly as "Baby Grange" and sells for a fraction of the winery's flagship Grange, but also good wine pedigree. Look for ripe cassis, blueberry, dark cherry, vanilla and cedar-spice flavours smooth and long on the palate. Nice now and over the next dozen years.

Cabernet Shiraz food pairings: beef Carpaccio, roast beef, roast leg of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Kevin rated this wine as 50/100
Penfolds Bin 389 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz red wine blend is a rich, intense and full-bodied red wine blend of 54% Cabernet and 46% Shiraz grapes. Wine grapes are grown in Wrattonbully, Barossa, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Robe regions. The wine was matured 12 months in American oak hogshead barrels, of which 40% were new. Penfold's Bin 389 is sometimes referred to fondly as "Baby Grange" but sells for a fraction of flagship Grange. Superbly made by Peter Gago and his team. Pair with grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
