Reviews and Ratings

Marcia J. Hamm rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

What an amazing wine! To be honest, I'm always a bit dubious about wines from South Africa, but after tasting this wine during our South Africa section in my diploma class, I was changing my mind. Although I tasted the 2013 in class which has a percentage of Chardonnay in it, this vintage is 100% Chenin Blanc, but with a portion aged in the presence of oak staves, and a portion with lees stirring which really gave this wine a creamy mouth feel and full body. Great nose of sweet hay and pear, baked apples with a hint of sweet spice, followed by more sweet hay, melon and key lime on the palate with searing high acidity. Try it with a creamy cheese to cut through the acidity and accentuate the mouth feel.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
