This wine really needs some serious time to unwind: it's wound up tighter than a cobra right now. Lots of black fruit and toasty oak with massive tannins gripping on the palate. Structured like Back: big, deep, heavy tones. Pair with eternity.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Wow! Deep ruby, with an opaque centre, the 2012 Ornellaia shows the perfect balance of sweet fruit, savoury traits, rich texture, structure, and overall balance. Concentrated dark fruit, cacao, espresso, leather, spice, it's jam packed with an obundance of fine tannins. The winemaker achieve beautiful balance in this iconic wine. Ideal with wide range of Tuscan dishes, especially thick cut bistecca alla fiorentina (steaks). It's elegant, structured, and built to be cellared and enjoyed over the next few decades. Tasted November 2015. 95 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
This is the half bottle size of this wine. This Italian red wine classic Superiore Tenuta dell'Ornellaia has a huge, dense texture and weight. Excellent balance, length and depth. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
