Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes WSET 3, FWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2015 vintage Opta is an assemblage of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz – three signature grapes of Portugal’s Dao appellation where this wine was crafted. An attractive deep ruby colour with a pronounced bouquet of red and dark berries, especially cherries and raspberries. The medium bodied velvety palate was reminiscent of warm red and dark berry preserves. Showed cedar characteristics and smooth tannins, too. Enjoy.

Opta 2015 is a great value Dão red blend of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz wine grapes. Still youthful and tight, tannins are firm and there is good acidity on this dark-fruited red. Good for the cellar. This vintage was awarded Gold in the 2017 International Wine Challenge, 2017. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
