Reviews and Ratings

Shelley Harris rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

A deep rub red medium bodied wine with a balance of berries and smoky spices. Paired this wine with a spicy pasta sauce filled with Italian sausages and fennel-scented meatballs.
Grapes were sourced from both bush and trellised vineyards in Stellenbosch, Paarl, Malmesbury and Worcester. These vineyards have been established at varying altitudes, from 50m to 180m above sea level.

The grapes were harvested by hand from the beginning of February at between 23° and 25° Balling. Four days of skin fermentation was allowed to extract sufficient colour and fruit, without excess harshness. After pressing malo lactic fermentation occurred. Post blending, maturation took place on American oak for 2 -3 months prior to a single cross-flow filtration before bottling.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
