Nielson By Byron 2017 Pinot Noir is silky, fruity and fragrant with earthy violets, bergamot, dried tobacco leaf and ripe blackberry aromas on the nose, vibrant with layers of dark fruit, blueberry, rhubarb, earthy, spicy and smoky on the palate. Tannins are pleasantly grippy. Since the early 1980s Santa Barbara County has been recognized as one of California’s great wine regions for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The cooler, mild climate and sandy soils are a perfect match for these varietals. Pour with grilled lamb chops or kebabs.
