Muralhas de Monção from Monção e Melgaço, Vinho Verde is a zesty, medium-bodied white wine blending Alvarinho and Trajadura with notes of sliced apple, ripe peach, pink grapefruit and limestone. This dry, vegan-friendly wine displays tight acidity and creamy texture that make it wonderfully refreshing. Serve it well chilled with grilled calamari as the wine's bright character complements the charred seafood, or pair it with steamed mussels where the wine's lively profile enhances the briny shellfish. Winemaker António Esteves crafts this fragrant Vinho Verde with layers of apricot and citrus curd alongside stony minerality on the palate. Muralhas de Monção represents exceptional quality from this sub-region known for producing Portugal's finest Alvarinho-based wines with remarkable aromatic intensity. This crisp, fruity wine earned Wine Enthusiast Best Buy designation and represents excellent value and will drink beautifully through 2028.

Vinho Verde food pairings: grilled calamari, steamed mussels, stuffed squid.
