Reviews and Ratings

Dianne Sheridan - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A lovely red Bordeaux blend from South Africa that has cellared well. It is primarily made from Merlot (60%), 16% Cab. Franc, 17% Cab. Sauv., and 7% Petit Verdot. On the nose, the wine carries cherry, cigar box, vanilla , oak and spice. On the palate, plum, ripe black cherry, very smooth and well balanced. It is dry, fruity and medium bodied
Pair it with smoked salmon or game.

This second blend has poise & polish beyond its station. 05 claret with a modern, vibrant twist. Proffers waves of red & black berries, in firm, supple package; excellent now, deserves 3 yrs min. Merlot (37%), cabernets franc & sauvignon, dash of petit verdot. Score: 4½ (out of 5). Source: Dave Swingler, Platter’s South African Wine Guide, 2009

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
