Chilean whites tend to be relegated to the side stage because of the popularity of their reds, but there are plenty of whites to be excited about. Montes chose to source this white from a region especially famous for their red ( Errazuriz's Seña beat Lafite at a German tasting in 2004). This white is very plush and tropical - it would have very broad appeal at a BBQ or gathering.
Pale lemon-green in colour. Very pale.
Aromas of gooseberry, juniper, capsicum, straw, nectarine, and very delicate florality.
Flavours of peach and nectarine, citrus, minerality, blanched almond, vanilla, and pear.
Aconcagua is north(ish), grows wines that are bright and tropical. Northern whites, generally, see more sun and less rain than the more restrained and crisp whites from the south. Perhaps a nice change for that someone you know obsessed with New Zealand Sauv Blanc?
