Big and juicy, with pleasingly tart and vibrant cherry aromas and flavours in this kiwi pinot noir. Mouth-watering acidity is fantastic for a range of dishes, from planked salmon to roast chicken. Smooth and medium- to full-bodied. Very tasty. Made by the film director of many famous movies, including several of the Harry Potter series. This red wine is bio-gro certified and the grapes came from three vineyard sites. The wine was fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged 11 months in old French barrels.
Pinot Noir food pairings: salad, mushroom risotto, planked salmon, frittata, coq au vin.

Hand picked, hand sorted and fermented with wild indigenous yeasts. Pale ruby colour with aromas and flavours of sour cherry, plum, violets, underbrush, earthy, cedar. Tannins are smooth and acidity is refreshing and opens up the palate. Lingering cherry vanilla finish. Medium(-) body. Easy to enjoy on it's own or with roasted poultry, French Canadian ham and pea soup, or BBQ hamburger.

Not at all what I expected from an NZ South Island Pinot but it is apparently from Marlborough. Quite different from Central Otago pinots, the Momo '12 Pinot displays a bit too much herbaceous notes for my liking. Tart cherry and cranberry are present, a little dusty earth is present, but then there is this odd basil and citrus pith note in the mix as well. Light tannins, light bodied and amazingly food friendly. Try with pasta bolognese!
|"Offspring" in the native Maori language translates to Momo. Grapes are grown in two of the Seresin family vineyards and are hand-picked, hand-sorted and naturally fermented with wild yeast. The wine was aged in French oak barrels for 11 months and bottled March 2013. - Community Wine Reviews|
