Fleshy ripe cherry aromas that get pleasantly tart on the palate of this Chianti made from the Sangiovese grape. Medium- to almost full-bodied, supple and mouth-watering with lots of acidity for food such as pasta in tomato sauce. Finishes with pepper, coffee and smoke. Superb value.

Food pairings: slow-roasted lamb shank, braised pork shoulder, pasta in tomato sauce.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Great value! Medium ruby colour with aromas and flavours of jammy red fruit, herbs, pepper, a little vegetal, vanilla, violets. Refreshing medium+ balancing acidity and medium-bodied. Tannins are smooth. This is a very approachable Italian red wine. Enjoy with your favourite pasta with tomato sauce, mussels in tomato sauce, Marguerita pizza. Enjoy now.
Tasted: February 2015
This robust Italian red wine is produced by the Ciacci family who have been making wines at the Mocali winery since the 1950s. Their 2012 vintage of the Morellino di Scansano has lots of dark fruit and a smooth mouth-feel. - Community Wine Reviews
