Juicy black plums and sweet mocha notes from oak aging on this BC Shiraz. Smooth and supple with a seductive cracked black pepper finish. Grapes are hand-selected and harvested from select blocks within the estate vineyards. Almost inky black in the glass. Pair with grilled steak.

Shiraz food pairings: slow-cooked beef ragĂș, lamb cutlets, espresso and cocoa-rubbed flank steak, black bean soup.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This medium(+) body Okanagan Shiraz is celebrating it's 4th birthday and showing lots of vibrant black plum and succulent fresh bitten cherry. There's plenty of black pepper and sweet Christmas cake spices to suit this varietal's fans. Some more mature notes of leather, earth, and chocolate are emerging yet tannins are youthful/grainy. There's lots of time left in this bottle. Perfect hamburger wine - summer is around the corner. Enjoyed as well with Prime Rib roast.
Tasted: February 2017
From the Okanagan Valley wine region in British Columbia, Mission Hill's Shiraz (2013) is dark purple in in the glass with juicy black plums and tertiary mocha notes on the palate from oak aging, finishing with spicy, cracked black pepper. Tannins are smooth and supple. Grapes for this wine were hand-selected and harvested from select blocks in the estate vineyards. Pair with grilled steak.
