Peppery with black fruit aromas and a smooth, seductive, full-bodied texture. A great Croatian red wine for BBQs and potluck gatherings. Plavac Mali is a native Croatian grape (pronounced PLAH-vahts MAH-lee), and the leading black grape grown on the sunlit Dalmatian Coast on the Adriatic Sea. Plava means blue and Mali mean small, which aptly describes the grapes for this wine which are packed with flavour as a result. Try it with meat lovers' pizza too ... tonight!

Plavac Mali food pairings: grilled chicken with tomato and olives, roasted venison.

This robust red wine from the Croatian Dalmatian Coast is related to the Zinfandel grape according to vine genetic studies. Big, delicious and bursting with brambleberry, mulberry, and plums. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
