A pleasing, almost full-bodied Spanish with a smooth, supple texture and a nice price. Aromas of dark red fruit and some smoke with mocha on the finish. Made from the Tempranillo grape, this medium- to full-bodied Rioja red wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months followed by extended bottle aging. Polished tannins. Pair with grilled meats.

Food pairings: grilled meats, pizza, game.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Voted World's Most Admired Wine Brand 2014 by Drinks International. I can report that i definitely admired this Tempranillo. Deep ruby colour with aromas of red berries, cherry, plum, smoke, leather and a lift of cigar box. The palate is full-bodied with more stewed red fruit, caramel and lingering sweet cigar finish. The tannins are evident but not overwhelming and acidity is balanced. Great value! Pair with grilled red meats, beef fajitas, roasted lamb shank. Buy as case for everyday red at this value.
Tasted: April 2015
This robust Spanish red wine is produced by the Torres family, whose roots (literally) are in the Catalan region. The first vintage of the Ibéricos Crianza was in 2006. This wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes. It is aged for 12 months in oak barrels then another 6 months in the bottle before being released from the winery. - Community Wine Reviews
