A robust and delicious red with aromas of black liquorice (it's dry), blackberries, black cherry and smoke. Lovely length and weight. Polished, smooth tannins make it easy to drink now though it'll also keep well in the cellar. This wine was mature for six months in French barrels, with most of it resting on its lees. Terrific price. Gassier is the iconic flagship of the Nimes region, and this wine shows why.

Food pairings: roast pork, beef tenderloin grilled game dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Michel Gassier Nostre Païs 2015 is a great value, robust dry and delicious Costières-De-Nîmes, Rhône red wine blend of Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Look for fleshy blackberries, black cherry and anise flavours on the palate. The wine is supply, silky with well-integrated tannins and great balance. Enjoy with a roast of beef. Drink now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
