Reviews and Ratings

Full-bodied and juicy with black fruit and toasty oak. Pair with grilled meats. MINE: This is a full-bodied, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lodi wine region in California. Michael David's Freakshow (2014) was aged 17 months in oak. This Californian is rich, succulent with blackberry and black cherry flavours full on the mid-palate. Lots of smoky oak and cake spices as well. Pair with dark chocolate. OTHER: Simon Chen rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: I like this one. For the price point, it's not too shabby compared to other $50 California cabs in LCBO. It has oak, vanilla, black currant, mocha on the nose. Big juicy palate and medium body and medium finish. It will go will with any grilled meats, burgers, or even BBQ ribs. Blended with a touch of Syrah and Pettit Verdot that gave this balanced structure and finish. OTHER: Barry Gordon rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Too much like a Zinfandel for my taste but if you like Zin, you may like this. OTHER: Big in flavor and structure, this dark-colored, full-bodied wine is concentrated and laced with fine-grained tannins to support rich blackberry flavors. It's smooth and mouth filling, with a lingering finish. Score - 90 (Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 31, 2017). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
