Reviews and Ratings

Butterscotch richness on the nose of this full-bodied, generous Californian Chardonnay. Aromas of peach and pear with toffee from oak aging. Pair with roasted chicken or turkey. MINE: From Monterey, Sonoma and Santa Barbara counties in California, Meiomi (2016) Chardonnay is buttery and smoky on the nose - a generous California Chardonnay with ripe stone fruit, apples and spicy ripe pears and soft lemon zest on the palate. OTHER: Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Pale lemon colour with green flecks. Medium plus intensity aromas of ripe pear, apples, buttered cinnamon pears, touch of toffee, banana and roasted almonds. On the palate flavours evolve with ripe honeyed melon, pear, brown sugar roasted apples, and vanilla softness. On the palate very well rounded, medium acidity, medium plus body and finish with sweet spices and buttered toast. Deliciously oily and glossy. Well integrated with light smokiness. Pair with creamy Camembert cheese, seafood linguine alfredo or chicken cordon bleu. 91 points - Team tasting November 19th 2017. OTHER: Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: There's lots of apple and creamed pear here, citrus, and a hit of lanolin. 91 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com). OTHER: Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: I love a smooth buttery Chardonnay and this one from Meiomi hits he spot! Aromas of ripe pear and vanilla are followed by flavours of honeydew and baked apple and a nice lingering creamy finish. Great paired with roast turkey or chicken. Tasted November 19, 2017. OTHER: Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Buttery caramel, tropical fruit and citrus aromas on this California Chard. Delicious palate gives rich tropical guava and passionfruit with butterscotch, buttered toast and citrus. Mouth-watering acidity and lingering finish. Enjoy with roast chicken or grilled scallops. Great gift for a Chard lover. Tasted Nov. 2017. OTHER: Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Meiomi's Chardonnay has become an international hit given its delicious flavour profile and creamy texture that showcases some of the best characteristics of Coastal California Chardonnay. The nose shows spicy baked apple, pineapple, ginger, and vanilla bean biscotti. The textured palate is both creamy and refreshing with poached pear and baked apple on the finish. Beautiful when enjoyed on its own, it's also dynamite when enjoyed with grilled honey-lime chicken with pineapple salsa or any grilled fish with a pineapple salsa. Tasted December 2017. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca. OTHER: Pam Hatton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: A delicious Cali Chard with lots of apple, poached pear and some tropical fruit and caramel on the nose. The palate is round and buttery integrating the tree fruit with balanced acidity to keep it from being a big fruit bomb. Long finish. OTHER: Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: This creamy Chardonnay offers flavors of sweet spice, tropical fruit, crisp green apple, vanilla and an overall oily texture. Lovely with medium cheeses or a creamy pasta dish. OTHER: Lori Kilmartin - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: A typical chardonnay with aromas of butter and caramel. Not over the top oaky which is my kind of chard. Full and smooth bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Cooked apples reminiscent of an apple pie. Long finish of buttered popcorn. Tasted November 19, 2017. OTHER: David Skinner rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Light gold. Nose repeat with tropical fruit and oak accents. Pineapple, butterscotch lemon zest and apple pie. Medium acidity and a luscious mouthfeel generously imbued with grilled pineapple and baked apples. A medium long finish. Pair with Apricot-stuffed pork loin. OTHER: Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Nicely crafted Cali Chard - not overtly contrived. Silky and buttery, warm toastiness (think toasted brioche), light caramel, apple and delicate tropical fruit. Quite elegant at this price point. Would be lovely with seared scallops in period-cream sauce. OTHER: Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Lemony yellow in colour, this Chardonnay has hints of buttery vanilla and caramel on the nose which follows through in the mouth blending with hints of apple and pear. Lovely wine with creamy pasta. Tasted November 19, 2017. OTHER: Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Medium yellow in the glass, the nose showing melon and citrus fruit. Full, round and creamy on the palate, with sweet pear, pineapple honeydew and citrus along with oak spice. Tasted Nov, 2017. OTHER: Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Nose: Baked Apple, apricot, honey, butterscotch & nutty, toasty vanilla Palate: Warm baking spices, buttery baked apple notes, more vanilla & hazelnut, butterscotch & dark rum notes, full bodied, mild acidity, lingering finish. Pair with creamy soft cheeses, rich creamy poultry & pork dishes, or on its own to warm you up after a winter stroll. OTHER: Wineboy rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: Full rich Chardonnay with extreme buttery characteristics. Accompanying elements of oak are not shy and are smoky charred and long. More MLF than I wish for but for those who seek it - here it is. OTHER: Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: Straw in colour with aromas of apple, peach and toasted oak. Flavours of green apple, peach, light caramel and vanilla. This will pair well with turkey, chicken or pork as well as medium cheeses. Tasted on November 19, 2017. OTHER: Sharon Aubie rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review: Aromas of honey and melon. Medium-boded chardonnay with moderate oak and a short finish. Pair with creamy past, fish cakes, or veal chops. Reviewed November 22, 2017. OTHER: a and Santa Barbara counties. OTHER: Concentrated toasty notes accent the baked apple, pear and peach flavors, with tropical fruit nuances. Butterscotch details show on the finish. Drink now. Score - 88 (Kim Marcus, winespectator.com, 2019). - Community Wine Reviews
