Mazzei Ser Lapo Riserva 2020 Chianti Classico is a dry, medium-plus-bodied Tuscan red produced from mostly Sangiovese with some Merlot grapes in support. Grapes were sourced from vines 15-to-30 years of age. The wine is fragrant with earthy violets and savoury with ripe red berry, raspberry, earthy violets, citrus zest and chocolate notes framed by structured, fine-grained tannins. Very nicely balanced and finishes long on the palate. Drink or hold to 2030.

Chianti Classico food pairings: meaty lasagne, meat lover's pizza, veal Parmigiano.
