Reviews and Ratings

Robert Janiga rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine from Dunnigan Hills is a blend of Tempranillo, Tannat and Graciano. Tempranillo comprises 83% of the blend. It was aged in a mixture of American, French and Hungarian oak. Lots of ripe black and red berries on the nose with nice vanilla, cedar and spice. The palate has a similar profile as the nose, with the fruit having a pleasurable intensity, along with smooth and firm tannins and some acidity this side of lively. This will pair nicely with pepperoni pizza, cheese and charcuterie board, or meat lasagna. This should be enjoyed now and over the next couple years. At $22.95 you are getting a well-structured, slightly complex and elegant wine. This is California doing a Spain varietal very well.
This powerful Californian red wine is produced by the Crew Wine Company and made from the Tempranillo grape, which is usually the traditional grape of Spain not California. The 2010 vintage is a blend of 83% Tempranillo, 10% Tannat and 7% Graciano that was matured for 22 months in American, French and Hungarian oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews
