Love the blackberry, ripe cassis and mocha nose on this unusual red blend of 70% Corvina and 30% Malbec grapes from Argentina. Dry and lush with dark plum compote with anise, vanilla, mocha and baking spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm and decant this full-bodied red for two hours prior to pouring with a meaty lasagne dinner. Or hold for a year or two.

Corvina Malbec food pairings: grilled venison steak, roast partridge, veal Porterhouse.

Reviews and Ratings

From Tupungato, Uco Valley wine region, Masi's Tupungato Corbec 2015 Corvina and Malbec red wine blend is made in the appassimento style. Full-bodied and lush with incredible depth of blackberry compote, licorice, mocha and spicy flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm with considerable backbone as well. Give it a little more time in cellar -- about two years. Pair with a roast leg of lamb. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
