Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Floral nose, namely violet, with plenty of ripe black cherry. High acid with generous sour cherry and raspberry flavours over accents of dried herbs. Tannins with apparent tannins with grip and length. An interesting blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Pinot Nero/Noir. Undeniably good friendly. Pair with beef or lamb, or match with a classic red sauce dish such as Bolognese or spaghetti and meatballs.
Marziano Abbona I Due Ricu 2016 is a medium-plus-bodied red blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) from the Langhe, Piedmont wine region. Floral on the nose with dark and red berry, spicy flavours on the palate. Tannins are grippy. Decant for two hours and pair this mouth-watering red with a well-marbled roast beef. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
