Lots of acidity in this robust Spanish red wine with black fruit, tar and a pleasantly bitter finish. One of the better-known producers of Rioja on a large scale. Pair with roast beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Alarica Fernandes rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

This medium-bodied, berry-forward wine is complex and layered with a smooth finish. Playing with aromas like cedar, plum, chocolate and sour cherry, this is definitely one of those wines to be savoured. Pull out your decanter for this one - the more it airs, the better it is. Pair it with full-flavoured foods such as sausage, game, Serrano ham and grilled meats.
This full-bodied Spanish red wine is a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo grapes from vines that are more than 15 years old. The grapes are picked by hand and the wine is aged for 26 months on American oak barrels. Try this with poultry or stew.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
