Marchand-Tawse Fleurie Gamay is a captivating, ruby-violet Beaujolais from one of the appellation's most celebrated and fragrant crus, shaped by the hand of Quebec-born winemaker Pascal Marchand, who made history as only the second non-Frenchman ever appointed to lead a major Burgundian estate when he took charge of Domaine Comte Armand's Clos des Epeneaux at just 22 years old. Sourced from biodynamically farmed, hand-picked fruit, this Gamay seduces with aromas of wild raspberry, crushed violet and a delicate thread of spice, with a minerally undertone that speaks to the granite soils of Fleurie. It is dry and medium to full-bodied, with bright, juicy acidity and supple tannins that give the wine a silky, flowing texture on the palate, ending on a fresh, lingering finish. Best served lightly chilled, it will drink beautifully through 2028. Tuck it away with a herb-crusted pork tenderloin with cherry pan sauce, where the wine's red fruit and spice find a natural echo, or pour it alongside a charcuterie board piled with pate de campagne, cornichons and grainy mustard for an effortlessly French pairing.
