Such a happy French wine from the southern Burgundian region of Beaujolais. This is definitely not Nouveau. Cherry-berry jubilee in your mouth with a touch of green herbal notes that give a pleasant bite and refreshment. Supple and medium bodied.

The 2012 vintage of the Julienas Les Bottieres is made from grapes that grow on vines planted granite and schist soils. This wine accounts for only a tiny portion of the winery's 0.8 hectare vineyard of 50-year-old vines. The wine is matured in one wooden foudre (large oak barrel that doesn't impart much oak character, just softens the wine and adds a little texture). Medium-bodied and eminently drinkable. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
