Maison Fontan Tattoo Southwest I.G.P. is a light, dry white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Gros Manseng from the Côtes de Gascogne in southwestern France, vinified separately for freshness before blending. The nose shows candied lemon, pear skin, and a hint of herbs and flowers, with a medium-bodied, vibrant palate, vivid acidity, and a bright, zesty finish. Serve it well chilled and drink it now. Winemaker Sylvain Fontan runs the estate alongside his sister Nadège, making them the fourth generation of the Fontan family to farm this land in Noulens in the Gers department. The family moved to Maubet Farm in 1907 and were among the first estates in Gascogne to bottle their own wine when they transitioned from mixed farming to dedicated viticulture in the 1980s.

Food pairings: chilled poached shrimp with lemon aioli, Thai chicken noodle salad with lime dressing, steamed mussels with white wine and shallots.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
