Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Bodegas Lustau is a favourite among Sherry connoisseurs for their breadth of styles and historical importance to the region. This is one of their entry level Finos - a lighter, drier, softer styles. It was aged for a minimum of 5 years in El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain. It is built up woth the Palomino varietal.
It is a soft hay-yellow, with lots of legs. Almost glasscoating.
It has a typical alcohol level for a dry Sherry of this style; well under 20%.
It has some lovely nutty notes as well as lemon, apple (fresh and dried), and some starchy sweetness on the finish from the American oak.
Fresh and clean, this is a great representation of style from a great winery. That being said, this style is quite the acquired taste. Especially since North Americans are usually not very familiar with quality Sherry. Yum yumyum. Pair it with your choice of olives, Manchego, and happiness.
Lastau Puerto is a well-priced Fino Sherry from the Jerez wine region. Fino sherry is the driest and palest of the sherries. Jerez Fino develops a thin layer of flor giving the sherry more pronounced flavours of oyster shell, iodine, nuts and olive. Pair this soft and complex fino with tapas. - Community Wine Reviews
