Reviews and Ratings

Marcia J. Hamm rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

It's almost that time! This Thursday is the release date for the cult Beaujolais-Nouveau wines made with the Gamay grape. This wine, although made with the very same Gamay grape, is a step higher, ranked as a Beaujolais Village, with more structure and concentration, with some actual maceration, as opposed to just the carbonic maceration (essentially fermenting the grape from the inside out) that we see in the Nouveau wines. Made from vines planted in 1951, the sandy soils close to the village of Fleurie, make soft and fruity wines, with hints of strawberries and cherries. It has a "chewy" and refreshing palate too and will pair well with cheese, poultry, and spicy Mexican food!

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
