Juicy, acidic, and medium-bodied with aromas of tart berries. Supple, smooth and velvety in texture. This French red wine is 85% Gamay grapes sourced from top Beaujolais Crus vineyards. There's also 15% Pinot Noir grapes from Burgundy. It's an acquired taste when you're tried of fruity wines from the New World. This wine bites back and needs food.

Reviews and Ratings

Dale rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Used 1 1/2 cups for delicious Filet of Beef Bourguignon with Tina on April 24th 2016
This Bourgogne Gamay 2011 is shimmering garnet-red in colour and reveals aromas of violet and quince. It is tasty, round and rich, revealing flavours of wild strawberry.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
