A lovely, juicy Old World Burgundian Chardonnay from the Marsannay region. The 2014 of this Louis Latour features aromas of golden apple, lemon tart, and lots of racy acidity for shellfish or roast chicken.

Food pairings: grilled pork chops, chicken Kiev, smoked whitefish on baguette.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Louis Latour is a large Burgundian producer that makes wine in a large selection of famous appelations.
Marsannay is the most northerly. It is quite cool, so expect it to be less expansive than the more full southern examples.
This one has some lovely stone fruit (white fleshed peach and yellow apple). Some subtle vanilla, cornflower, and lemon.
It is a very delicate wine. It absolutely has charm, especially for the patientm. Don't overchill, gove it half an hour in a decanter, and it can be tucked away for a short cellar time.
Pair this delicious wine with lemon chicken.
The Chardonnay wine grapes for Louis Latour 2014 were hand-harvested from their vineyards in Marsannay, Burgundy. On the nose, this pale gold Chardonnay has fresh almond, vanilla and Fermented in traditional French oak barrels with maturation up to 10 months The village of Marsannay marks the beginning of the Route des Grands Crus which follows the N6 highway through the Côte d'Or. Marsannay received its Appellation Contrôlée as recently as 1987.
Our Marsannay 2014 shows a nice and brilliant pale yellow colour. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied with white florals, fresh almond and vanilla flavours finishing with mineral notes. Pair with grilled shellfish dishes. Enjoy now and over the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
