Lots of acidity and somewhat herbal green notes on the Chateau des Jacques 2011 Morgon. Aromas of tart, sour chary and tea. Smooth tannins, medium-bodied. Pair with tangy dishes.

Once a place of rest along the pilgrims' route to Santiago de Compostela, Chateau des Jacques was acquired in 1996 by Maison Louis Jadot. Its vineyards are next door to the famous vineyards of Cru Moulin-a-Vent and Morgon. The 2011 Morgon had about 66% of the wine remain in the tank which is the opposite of the generic Moulin-a-Vent red wine, and thus this helped to soften the tannins. About 33% of the blend is sourced from the Roche Noire vineyards. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
