Reviews and Ratings

Full-bodied Italian Chianti made from the Sangiovese grape, with grainy tannins. The wine was aged for 12 months in oak barrels imparting a smoky character. Aromas of tart cherry and earth. Pair with lasagna or pasta with tomato sauce. MINE: There is a firm tannic grip on the palate and finish on this Chianti Classico from the Tuscany wine region. Lornano (2013) is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes and is well-priced under $20, but could use some cellar time to show its best. Pair with a rich meat-filled pasta and richer tomato sauce. OTHER: Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: This cherry coloured Chianti Classico has aromas of blueberry preserves, cedar, cinnamon, floral notes, and hints of vanilla bean. On the palate, there are blackberry and blackcurrant flavours, as well as black pepper, subtle coffee notes, and a slightly bitter finish. It is medium bodied with fairly structured yet gentle tannins, and fresh acidity. A lovely wine at a very affordable price. Tasted January 2018. Uno fra i migliori Chianti Classico in assoluto, chapeau. Score - 97 (Luca Maroni, lucamaroni.com, March 16, 2018). - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
