Reviews and Ratings

Brent Gushowaty rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

In the glass the depth of colour is pale but approaching a medium minus and with a ripe cherry coloured rim. The aroma here is of ripe black fruits, plums and some barrel derived vanilla notes. On the palate it shows very fresh ripe cherry, vanilla, exotic lily florals, grapey and with some tar. Decently balanced but very full fruit driven at this point with a slightly soft ending.

This pinot noir is in the very-long-hang-time camp of vineyard management and winemaking. The grapes were harvested North of 25 brix. It tastes a great deal like a California pinot noir though it stops short of the cola line. As it opened up it became silky and rounded but with little layering, or nuance and very much on the big, blocky, fruity end of the pinot noir scale. Medium plus intensity and body. Drinking well now. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

This was the inaugural vintage of this wine.
