The 2014 vintage of Maiana offers notes of dark berries, smoke and dried herbs. Sweet black cherry aromas and flavours on this delicious Italian red wine that is terrific for the money. Ripe cherry and plum notes. Pair with grilled lamb chops.

Food pairings: gourmet pizza, sausages.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Here we have an elegant red wine with very faint aromas but an enticing palate. Delicate flavours include berry notes, anise, allspice, and tobacco. This is a full-bodied with high tannin, high acidity (beautiful integration), and a long baking spice finish. A holiday keeper for sure! Pair with stews and braises. Tasted Sept 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Great value for the money! Leone De Castris from Puglia is a delicious rustic, smoky Italian red wine that is terrific value for the money. The wine is made from old vines Negromaro and (red) Malvasia grapes. Pair with roasted meats. - Community Wine Reviews
