From Willow Creek District, L'Aventure Optimus 2015 is a rich and robust red wine blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot aged for over a year in 70% new French oak barrel. Deep purple in the glass with earthy florals, ripe red berry and blueberry on the nose. So delish on the palate with ripe, lush red and dark berry fruit, dark chocolate flavours finishing with lingering cake spice and cracked pepper on the palate. Pair with a Porterhouse steak.

Food pairings: cheese pizza, filet mignon, grilled beef sliders.

Reviews and Ratings

Optimus 2015 is a robust Californian red blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon with the balance in Petit Verdot from Willow Creek District, Paso Robles, California and coming in at a whopping 16% abv. Deep ruby in the glass, spicy, smoky with ripe dark berries aromas, the wine is full-bodied, robust with ripe dark berries, spice and dark chocolate flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and velvety. Enjoy now or hold for three years in cellar. Pair with a game roast. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
