Juicy and tasty with purple and black plum notes. Full-bodied and smooth. In a previous vintage this wine won the Gold Medal for Best Producer at the Sélections Mondiales de Vins in Canada. Some black cherry and mocha on the finish. Excellent value.

Bonarda food pairings: slow-cooked beef dishes, grilled steak, game.

Reviews and Ratings

Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This was my first experience with the Bonarda grape and I found it to be delicious. Cedar dark fruits, blackberry and a savory floral note. Fruit forward, distinct tannins and a hint of wood make for a complex wine. I will definitely buy this wine again.
Aromas of ripe berries and rich black fruit, mocha and toast. The palate is quite lovely with good weight and flavour intensity. Made in a very approachable and friendly style, this is a great indicator of the increasing quality and growing popularity of Bonarda. A fun and exciting wine that will add some flair to your next barbecue. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Oct. 2012
